AllMusic Review by

An excellent compilation of some of the Mississippi Sheiks' best work, Show Me What You Got is an ideal introduction to a very important group, containing both their best-known songs and more interesting curiosities from their repertoire. One of the first blues groups to record, there's no denying the Mississippi Sheiks' historical importance, but this betrays their musical legacy, which is one of the more enjoyable and rewarding from the early blues pioneers. Classics such as "Sitting on Top of the World" and "Alberta Blues" are present, as are lesser-known gems such as "Stir It Up" and "Church Bell Blues." Certainly, the fidelity of some of these tracks is rather low, which makes it a challenging listen, but this release communicates the consistent brilliance of the group's work, and would be an ideal introduction to their music.
