AllMusic Review by

Influenced by the likes of Jeff Buckley, Billie Holiday, and Annie Lennox, Serpentine is the genre-straddling debut album from French-Ivorian vocalist Tatiana Heinz and guitarist/banjoist Gilbert Trefzger (aka Okou). Produced by Jay Newland (Juliette Gréco), and recorded with musicians who have worked with Tom Waits and Norah Jones, the 2009 release, which incorporates soul, blues, folk, and pop, includes the singles "To the Bone," "Evening Sun," and the title track.
