AllMusic Review by

A cursory sampler of what the wide world of Latin music has to offer, Protel's Seriously Good Music: Latin jumps around from salsa to mambo to boogaloo all in the space of 12 songs. There are some big names on here (Pérez Prado, Willie Rosario, Ray Barretto), but the album's trying to accomplish too much in too little space. That's not to say that the songs included aren't good, because they are, but they're neither exemplary enough nor cohesive enough as a sampler to make Seriously Good Music: Latin as good as it seems that something with a title like that should be.
