AllMusic Review by

Serious Club Hits is a two-disc compilation of U.K. dance-pop hits circa 2002. It's a rather random but enjoyable sampling of singles that crosses a number of stylistic fields, including hip-hop, contemporary R&B, house, trance, and pop. Some of the highlights include Ms. Dynamite's "Dy-Na-Mi-Tee [Yoruba Soul Mix]," Appleton's "Fantasy," Octave One's "Black Water," Mad'House's cover of Madonna's "Like a Prayer," Scooter's cover of Supertramp's "The Logical Song," the Sugababes' "Round Round [Tonic Mix]," and Daniel Bedingfield's "James Dean (I Wanna Know)." Remixes are occasionally favored over the original versions, which makes the set somewhat problematic for those who want to have the most familiar versions, but it still functions as a decent 2002 yearbook of popular U.K. club music.
