A nice collection of fado from various masters of the form, all based in Coimbra. The bulk of the album comes from what is essentially the third generation of fado greats, the group surrounding Antonio Brojo and his cohort. The songs are classic here, with some of the great singers present (Jose Afonso, Adriano Correia de Oliveira, etc.), as well as the greats of fado guitar (the Paredes family, Antonio Portugal). There are countless albums of fado out on the market, most using works from this same clump of performers and their ilk. This one sits nicely in with the others. Nothing particularly special about it, and nothing particularly detracting in it. Worth a listen for fado fans.
