This live performance from the Montmartre in Copenhagen is a disappointment considering the lineup. Both Kenny Dorham and Rolf Ericson are on trumpets and joined by a brilliant rhythm section (pianist Tete Montoliu, a teenaged Niels Pedersen on bass and drummer Alex Riel) but, instead of fireworks, the two trumpeters are overly relaxed and play in similar dull styles on the four standards (plus Dorham's title cut); Montoliu is easily the most impressive soloist. It was an off night, making this CD of limited interest.
