AllMusic Review by

Consumer note: These are not the original Drifters recordings from their most fertile and commercially successful period (1959-64); instead, they're soundalike remakes made in the '90s by the then-current Drifters touring ensemble, plus a few bonus covers of more recent songs like Paul Simon's "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover." Authenticity notwithstanding, if you want all-stereo versions of the Drifters' hits this is a good buy. Granted nobody will ever mistake these remakes for the originals, but they're very well done, and the songs themselves--timeless classics like "Up on the Roof," Gerry Goffin and Carole King's gorgeously romantic ode to working-class escape and freedom--are of course unarguable.
