AllMusic Review by

Bellevue's Saturday Night Party series, like other releases from the label, features only a handful of original recordings per volume. Poorly recorded live versions and studio re-recordings are far more common. The label specifies which selections are live, but it does not bother to note which ones are inferior studio remakes. That alone is a case for ignoring the whole series. Among the many reasons to avoid Saturday Night Party: Dixieland Party are substandard versions of Louis Armstrong's "When the Saints Go Marching In," Acker Bilk's "Hello Dolly," the Mills Brothers' "Sweet Georgia Brown," and the Ink Spots' "Swanee River."
