AllMusic Review by

This two-track single released via MP3.com presents two different sides of the group Vine Sweetland & the Forefathers of the New Millennium. Both tracks are tighter, rockier, and have more commercial appeal than the jam-oriented 1999 full-length CD Light Shining in the Distance. "Sativa" is typical turn-of-the-century psychedelic rock. Its infectious, repetitive pattern features drums, bass, spacy electric guitar, and the voice of Vine Sweetland stating a simple melody and cliché words that barely deserve the description "American street poetry" stated in the booklet. There are similarities with Hawkwind, Skye Klad, and the San Francisco psych scene of the '60s. "Raga Bhanga" is something else completely, an Indian raga featuring Rahul Sakyaputra on sitar, plus flute, violin, and tambura.
