A Salute to the Great Singing Groups is a tribute album featuring the Clark Sisters' four-part harmonies on a program of songs associated with great vocal ensembles of yore. The Andrews Sisters' "Bei Mir Bist Du Schon" receives a Swingle Singers arrangement with nonsense syllables sung behind the lead vocals, while the McGuire Sisters' "Sugartime" is stripped of the original version's hint of rock 'n' roll. For the most part the songs are interpreted in a lush and jazzy style similar to that of the Four Freshmen, although without as distinctive a vocal blend. Charles Bud Dant directs the group and orchestra, reprising his role from the 1959 album The Clark Sisters Swing Again.
