AllMusic Review by

Tailored for completists rather than casual fans, the second volume of Disco Funk Flavas -- one of the many Salsoul reissues made possible by the U.K.'s Suss'd label -- is far too thin to be considered an essential release. While the first Disco Funk Flavas contained a handful of indisputable Salsoul classics, this second one is full of obscurities and tracks categorized as rare for a reason (i.e., few DJs found any purpose with them). One major exception can be found with Logg's dynamite "Dancing into the Stars" (one of the many boogie classics from Leroy Burgess), but this set is filled with far too many second- and third-rate cuts (from the likes of Instant Funk, Aurra, Bunny Sigler, Edwin Birdsong, and a number of unknowns). This set dilutes, rather than enhances, the legacy of one of the mightiest disco labels.
