There's a fair amount of Puente material around at the moment, but most of it features his various Latin-jazz combos. Here, by contrast, is his salsa big band, recorded in a club after the dancers had gone home, probably during the mid-'80s. Big bands being what they are, this doesn't imply any major difference from the recordings, but there's a looseness in ensemble and solo playing that studio gigs tend to lack. The notes are brief, eccentric and fairly inaccurate.
