This just doesn't have the feel of a Jonathan Edwards album. It could be blamed on the relatively few Edwards originals, which leave the feeling that the creation of this record was more or less removed from the artist's hands. It's a pleasant enough collection, especially if you ever wondered what Jonathan Edwards would sound like singing other songwriters's songs. (His version of "Never Together" predates Carlene Carter's near hit by a year.) Still, if this is your first exposure to this artist, you may be tempted to skip the rest of his work and that would be a major mistake.
