AllMusic Review by

The commercially successful intersection of bluegrass and gospel around the turn of the millennium helped promote many talented artists, but it also loosed onto the record-buying public a wave of discount and cut-rate compilations (most of them consisting of anonymous studio sessionaires playing the music with competence but never real feeling). Fortunately for buyers of this compilation, the Rural Rhythm label doesn't fall into that category, and the music here is enjoyable bluegrass-gospel that tackles a few standards as well as airs songs of a more recent vintage. Great bands of varying eras perform classics of the country canon like "The Great Speckled Bird" (Don Reno and Bill Harrell), "Mansion in the Sky" (J.D. Jarvis), "Turn Your Radio On" (G.M. Farley), and "I Am a Pilgrim" (Hylo Brown).
