Chis Proctor is one of the experimental and technically brilliant steel string guitarists who emerged following the success of Leo Kottke. On this album, Proctor uses a variety of tunings and dynamic approaches. This is a beautiful and mostly peaceful collection of instrumentals. The guitar sound is reminiscent of Kottke's 1970 6 & 12 String Guitar album, and some of the melodic turns are in a similar vein, but he has staked out enough new territory to stand alone. A worthwhile album to seek out for fans of John Fahey and his descendants.
