AllMusic Review by Scott Yanow

Recorded a day after the first volume of cornetist Ruby Braff with his "New England Songhounds" (a sextet featuring tenor-saxophonist Scott Hamilton, guitarist Howard Alden, pianist Dave McKenna, bassist Frank Tate and drummer Alan Dawson), this CD is almost up to the same level; Braff and Hamilton usually bring out the best in each other. Highpoints of the melodic and swinging date include "Indian Summer," "Cabin in the Sky," a slow rendition of "Lullaby of Birdland" (which is taken as a ballad) and "Keepin' Out of Mischief Now."
