A 78-minute disc of alternate mixes and outtakes from the Beggars Banquet session, in superb sound. This effectively acts as an alternate version of Beggars Banquet itself. There are different versions/mixes of every track from that album except "Street Fighting Man," along with five songs (some instrumental) never released by the Stones. It might read more exciting than it plays. Some of the alternates differ in such subtle ways that they sound all but identical to the official versions, although trainspotters will appreciate differences like the prominent organ at the tag of "No Expectations." The otherwise unreleased tunes, which are loose, bluesy thangs with considerable funky charm, have already been found on various late-'60s Stones boots, although the sound quality here is unbeatable. Hardcore Stones scholars, though, will find the disc worth getting.
