Released in 2006 by Universal Music Latino, La Rodven Machine Caliente collects covers of popular English and American (and Latin American) songs, all performed by Latin artists who put their own stamp on the material while remaining rather faithful to the originals. The range of material is fairly broad, roaming through three decades but with an emphasis on the '60s. The highlights include Edgar Joel's "Black Magic Woman" (Santana), La Rodven Machine Orchestra's "Fantasy" (Earth, Wind & Fire), and Anthony Colon's "I Just Called to Say I Love You." The covers were recorded across a wide span of time, so the transitions from '70s recordings to '80s recordings (and back) can be quite rough, but the disc is certainly enjoyable.
