AllMusic Review by

BMG Special Products' Rockin' '70s is a collection of ten pop-rock and album rock hits culled from the RCA Records vaults. It's a weird mix -- any time B.W. Stevenson's "My Maria" flows into Lou Reed's "Walk on the Wild Side" and then Jaggerz' "The Rapper," you know you're in uncharted territory -- but it remains an entertaining listen, mainly because "Brother Louie," "No Time," "Rich Girl," "One Toke Over the Line," "Amie" and "Lay Down (Candles in the Rain)" are great singles from the era that sound good in any '70s context. Budget-minded listeners looking for an entertaining sampler of '70s hits could do a lot worse than Rockin' '70s.
