Rockabilly Stars, Vol. 3

Many of the artists on Rockabilly Stars, Vol. 3 are country stars trying out rockabilly for sizes, but that doesn't change the fact that the collection boasts a tremendously entertaining of country-boogie and proto-rockabilly that is just slightly off the beaten path. There may be a lot of familiar names here -- Little Jimmy Dickins, the Everly Brothers, Johnny Cash, Johnny Horton, Rose Maddox, Carl Perkins -- but their featured selections are as obscure as those by cult favorites like Jaycee Hill, Werly Fairburn, the Collins Kids, Bobby Lord, Jimmy Murphy, Cliff Johnson, Onie Wheeler and Sid King & the Five Strings. And that's precisely the reason why this is an invaluable collection for both the curious and experienced rockabilly fan.
