AllMusic Review by

Rockabilly Rarities, Vol. 1 plucks a big pile of rockabilly from scarce 45s that populated small-time record shops throughout the U.S. during the '50s and '60s. While this is a lovingly put-together compilation of rockabilly recorded during the style's peak, it's definitely something for longtime devotees and not newcomers. Some of the songs included are "Shaken and a Shuddern" by Jim Pike & the Kephart Rockers, "Rootie Tootie Baby" by Lee Mitchell & the Combo, "You Lied to Me Honey" by Junior Garvey & the Rock-N-Tones, "Boogie Woogie Country Girl" by Stephenson & the Four Kings, "I've Gotta Find Someone" by Tiny Tim & His Tornadoes, and "Go Girl Go" by Country GJs. These songs have been digitally remastered, and most of them are appearing on CD for the very first time.
