AllMusic Review by

The inspiration wasn't quite as consistent on this 10" LP, which relies a little too heavily on boogied-up versions of old tunes like "When the Saints Go Marching In" and on novelty numbers ("See You Later, Alligator") and also repeats ("Burn That Candle") off the earlier Rock Around the Clock album. The formula was starting to become repetitive on songs like "Forty Cups of Coffee," though that was lively and engaging enough, and Haley's version of "Rip It Up" is solid enough to have made this album worthwhile in 1957. Frannie Beecher and Rudy Pompilli's playing was consistently interesting, entertaining, and exciting, even if the music was becoming a little predictable.
