Madacy's Rock On 1989: Miss You Like Crazy is a brief survey of the year with a focus on ballads. Metal ballads like White Lion's "When the Children Cry" and Winger's "Headin' for a Heartbreak," rock ballads like Mike + the Mechanics' "The Living Years" and Bad English's "When I See You Smile," middle of the road ballads like Richard Marx's "Right Here Waiting" and the Bee Gees' "One." The one song that isn't a ballad is quite jarring: Karyn White's "Secret Rendezvous." While it could have used a few more tracks to bring the total running time up a little, this is one of the better discs in the Rock On series because it has a theme and mostly sticks to it. So if you were looking for ballads from 1989, this CD would actually be a good place to start.
