Rock and Roll Party is yet another K-Tel collection featuring re-recorded versions of popular '50s and '60s classics. While many of these songs have to be dismissed immediately, since their re-recorded selves can't even hang out in the same room as the originals they're aping, a few tracks do succeed by channeling the sheer infectiousness of the originals. Versions of "Rebel Rouser," "The Boy From New York City," and "Good Golly Miss Molly" are passably entertaining. But don't put this sputtering collection of also-rans on at your next party without expecting a few weird looks.
