AllMusic Review by

Rick Nelson was arguably at his best from 1957 to 1965, when his rhythmically interesting singles defined a kind of pop rockabilly, and songs like his cover of Gene Pitney's "Hello Mary Lou," "Travelin' Man," "Lonesome Town," "Waitin' in School," and his speed-injected take on Hank Williams' "My Bucket's Got a Hole in It" all sound great and wonderfully bright when they come on the oldies radio stations. This collection has all of these tracks, and more, and while listeners looking for more of a career overview should probably seek out Capitol's 2002 Greatest Hits release, if you don't feel you need "Garden Party," then this one will do fine.
