AllMusic Review by

Rootjoose's debut album Rhubarb is an awkward blend of funk and trad-rock that never hits a groove. The bass and drums are stilted, not funky, and the group never rocks hard and they never find a strong, catchy riff to make the whole mess sound appealing. Worst of all, the group doesn't have the technique to pull off their ideas. Perhaps if they were a little sharper and a little better, Rootjoose would be able to pull off this fusion, but as it stands, they sound nearly incompetent.
