AllMusic Review by

“Old skool,” the term that has been used in various ways and passed down generations, is now used to classify anything that is at least a decade old. For this three-disc set, mixed by Craig David and DJ Spoony, the term entails R&B and U.K. garage that spans the early ‘80s through the early 2000s, from Luther Vandross’ “Never Too Much” to Zed Bias’ “Neighbourhood.” The transitions from era to era are smooth, and the drastic shifts in style and era -- Cameo’s “Candy” into Nas’ “You Owe Me,” for instance -- are not as jarring as they appear. Though each track in full would be ideal, each selection gets at least a couple minutes to do its thing prior to yielding to the next one.
