The usual problem with industrial or EBM remix projects is that the remixers so rarely end up departing significantly from the monotonous, thudding industrial rhythms that, in large part, define the genre in most listeners' minds. This collection of remixes from the Informatik catalog (focusing primarily on Nymphomatik, their previous studio album) is no exception to that rule, but there's still a fair amount of better-than-average darkwave-influenced synth pop and EBM here. The Iris remix of "Over" brings a new level of rhythmic intricacy to the original song's sound (while retaining, sigh, that old reliable four-on-the-floor jackboot beat), and there is also a very good remix of "Retrogradation" and a previously unreleased track called "Revolutions." Perhaps best of all is a lush and surprisingly beautiful mix of "Autonomous" and a dark but also lovely mix of "At Your Command." The album also features a live video of the band performing "Watching You Watching Me" at the Palace in Hollywood. Recommended.
