AllMusic Review by

This three-disc set combines Lee Perry vs. King Tubby (aka 7x7), The Best of Dennis Brown (previously available as the single-disc Absolutely the Best: 1957-1999), and The Best of Barrington Levy (previously released as the stand-alone Moonlight Lover) into one scattershot package that is far from essential in its current incarnation -- and in the case of the Perry and King Tubby dub disc, could be considered a bit deceptive (who knows who really did any of these mixes-maybe King Tubby, maybe not, maybe Perry, maybe not), and in any event, is hardly a real dub showdown. Both Brown and Levy, of course, recorded extensively, so while what is here is fine, it doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of either artist's work, leaving this box set as a somewhat arbitrary artifact hastily thrown together and possessing little internal coherence.
