Released for the first time on this 1996 CD, this set documents a live duo date by tenor saxophonist Warne Marsh and bassist Red Mitchell. As usual, Marsh stretches out with continually fresh variations over common chord changes, but the lack of a drummer and a pianist is felt in a certain lack of momentum. Mitchell plays as well as usual, taking quite a few short solos, but the absence of much tonal variety makes the performance of less interest than one might expect.
