AllMusic Review by

1998's Recubed EP features six songs from Takako Minekawa's Roomic Cube album, remixed by friends like Land of the Loops, the Pulsars, Trans Am, and Buffalo Daughter. Each track on the EP reflects elements of both Minekawa and the remixing artist, and they're all a pretty good fit. Trans Am's remix of "T.T.T. (Turntable Tennis)" adds a computery menace to the track, while the Pulsars' take on "Fantastic Cat" enhances the song's innate new wave sheen. Since Buffalo Daughter collaborated with Minekawa on most of Roomic Cube's songs, their remix of "Klaxon!" sounds only a little different than the original, but DJ Me/DJ You of Sukia brings that group's trademark collage style to "1.666666," cutting and pasting at will. An interesting collaboration of like-minded musicians and friends.
