David Graham records some seriously dark and seriously angry ambience under the nom de plume Requiem. Recluse is a set of dark atmospheres that lean heavily toward the industrial end of ambience. The experimental sounds come at listeners at breakneck speed from every angle. Just when it seems that Graham is going over the top, he slows the pace and it gets darker. This is some forlorn material. Listening to it alone and/or in the dark is not a good idea. The deluxe edition of this CD includes a three-inch CD-R of a live performance from the Circuits of Steel tour in 2002. It is a 20-minute recording of Graham's dark music but it is more sedate and melodic. This set will appeal to fans of Rapoon, Lustmord, Powder French and Ozone Player.
