Re-Introduction Etudes sees genre-hopping pop genius Chilly Gonzales continue his focus on solo piano in the form of an instructional book and album geared toward the lapsed novice piano player. Intended for players who studied for a year or two before giving the instrument up, the book includes 24 lessons/songs, each looking at a specific element of music theory or piano technique. These easy-to-play motifs are presented in full-on performance form by Gonzales on the accompanying album, with each song being dedicated to its relevant source of inspiration or association, as in "Climbing and Falling - Scales as Melodies - Dedicated to M.C. Escher" and "Pavane - Thirds - Dedicated to Steve Jobs."
