AllMusic Review by

An interesting recording for dedicated Beatles fans, this disc collects portions of various interviews the Fab Four conducted between 1963 and 1968. The group's charmingly dry humor shines through, especially as they are forced to endure the relentlessly banal questioning of the starstruck American media. The occasional moments of nastiness seep into the boys' (especially John Lennon's) replies and display a typically unseen antidote to the sunniness of their early albums and famous live performances. Particularly fascinating inclusions are a London interview given in anticipation of their soon-to-be legendary American trip in 1964, and a 1966 Chicago interview in which an unusually humble and somber John Lennon frankly discusses his comments comparing the popularity of the Beatles to Jesus. The disc's primary failing is the relatively poor sound quality: crowd and background noise is persistently distracting and the many voices vying for the band's attention frequently drown each other out. This disc remains simply a curiosity, but that was all it was ever intended to be, and as such, remains worth a listen.
