Since Lodestone's debut album was produced by guitar whiz Gary Hoey, it would seem reasonable to expect Rainy Day Revelation to be filled with fretboard heroics. And that's exactly why the group's more textured rock may come as a bit of a shock who don't know them from Hoey. Led by singer-songwriter Jeremy Kay, Lodestone concentrates on melodic folk-rock, although the group can rock out if they choose. Kay is still developing as a songwriter, but he has an appealing, warm voice and a knack for catchy hooks that makes Rainy Day Revelation a pleasant debut.
