The original plan for this CD was that it would include New Orleans-style marches and rags from a variety of traditional jazz groups. But as it turned out, only Papa Bue's Viking Jazzband and Graham Stewart's New Orleans Band had recorded music that fit those related idioms. This disc has 14 songs from Papa Bue (dating from 1958-1962), two from trombonist Stewart's group (both previously unreleased), and four interesting numbers that have the two orchestras combined as one band. Among the tunes that are swung are "Washington Post March," "Maple Leaf Rag," "Black and White Rag," "The Entertainer," and "1919 March." Fun music.
