Purely Rockabilly Review

by Steve Leggett

Although one could argue whether or not most of the recordings included on this two-disc, 40-track set are actually rockabilly sides or not, and most of them really aren’t, it still makes for a nice collection of early rock & roll hits, most of which are classics by any definition, including Buddy Holly's “Not Fade Away” and “Peggy Sue,” Dale Hawkins' “Susie Q,” Carl Perkins' “Blue Suede Shoes,” Johnny Cash's “I Walk the Line,” and some guy named Elvis Presley's version of “Hound Dog.”
