Pure Guitar Moods

4am's Pure Guitar Moods collects four discs' worth of guitar-driven instrumentals, ranging from "Being with You" to "When You're in Love with a Beautiful Woman." Not surprisingly, some tracks work better than others: "The Girl from Ipanema" still sounds classy, while the synths on "Baker Street" are somewhat distracting. Nevertheless, the versions of "Every Breath You Take," "Smooth Operator," "Yesterday," and "Hotel California" are fun, albeit in a somewhat cheesy way. It's not a great collection, but Pure Guitar Moods can be entertaining if you're in the right frame of mind.
