AllMusic Review by

Pure Classical Gold collects four discs' worth of well-known classical pieces, including Mozart's Marriage of Figaro, K.492: Overture, Grieg's Peer Gynt-Suite No.1, Op.46: Death of Ase, Handel's Messiah: No.39: Hallelujah, and Massenet's Thais (Meditation). Though the collection focuses on orchestral pieces, opera is represented by Rossini's Barber of Seville: Aria: Largo Al Factotum, and Verdi's Rigoletto: Questa O Quella. Other highlights include Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, BWV 565: Excerpt, Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Summer, Op.8/2: 3rd MVT: Tempo Impettuoso d'Estate, and Strauss' Blue Danube, Op.314. Pieces by Dvorak, Bizet, Tchaikovsky, and Brahms, among others, make Pure Classical Gold a good general collection for casual classical music fans.
