In the '90s, Raphy Leavitt and La Selecta made an attempt to continue on the new romantic salsa style that proved to be highly profitable. Acceptable, with good performances by the ever-present Sammy Marrero, Carlos Ramirez, and Osvaldo Díaz, Raphy Leavitt's unfailing talent as a songwriter is sorely missed here. Although his band has improved 100 percent musically, it needs songwriter Mr. Leavitt to inject the catchy topicality that he is known for. Arrangements by the highly productive Julio Alvarado and Isidro Infante. Furthermore, this was Leavitt's first attempt at producing for his own label, RL Records.
