AllMusic Review by

Ten year old Jackie Evancho found fame overnight as a contestant on the popular reality show America’s Got Talent. The precocious, Pittsburgh native sang Puccini’s “O mio babbino caro,” much to the delight of the judges and audience alike, and soon became an internet sensation. Evancho’s 2009 debut album, Prelude to a Dream, features fourteen covers in the classical crossover style, including Josh Groban’s “To Where You Are” Don McLean’s “Starry Starry Night (Vincent)” and Andrea Bocelli’s “Con Te Partiro”, as well as classics like “Amazing Grace” and “Ave Maria”.
