AllMusic Review by

British budget label Prism Leisure's Preacher King of Rock N' Roll is another in the seemingly endless succession of compilations of re-recordings of Little Richard's hits. Versions of some of his most popular songs of the 1950s -- "Long Tall Sally," "Keep A Knockin'," "Jenny, Jenny," "Good Golly, Miss Molly," "Tutti-Frutti," etc. -- are included, along with some curiosities ("Groovy Little Suzy," "Cherry Red"). The sources of the tracks, which are not revealed in the bare-bones packaging, seem to be various, from fairly faithful re-creations of the original arrangements to low-fidelity live recordings. Little Richard's enthusiasm for performing is always evident, but this is a poorly assembled collection of stray recordings.
