Under the direction of Masta P and his No Limit production team, Steady Mobb'n turn in a predictable but satisfying gangsta rap collection with their debut, Pre-Meditated Drama. Although rappers Crooked Eyz and Billy Badd don't offer any lyrical insights -- their rhyming skills aren't particularly distinctive, and they're often overshadowed by guest rappers like Mystikal and Richie Rich -- the sound of the record is superb. The No Limit producers have created a tour de force of urban funk and streetwise rhythms that keeps Pre-Meditated Drama continually entertaining. Even if it offers nothing new or unexpected, it's a hell of a listen.
