AllMusic Review by

The 2010 installment of the hugely successful compilation series aimed at children, Pop Party, Vol. 8 gathers 23 of the biggest chart hits from the previous 12 months. Featuring boy bands (JLS, McFly), U.K. & U.S. R&B acts (Usher, N-Dubz), girl power pop (Pixie Lott, Cheryl Cole), and pre-teen favorites (Miley Cyrus, Jedward), it also includes seven number ones from the likes of Ne-Yo, Taio Cruz, and Scouting for Girls. Highlights include the Wanted's Coldplay-esque chart-topper "All Time Low," Yolanda B Cool's Italian-language novelty hit "We No Speak Americano," and Lady Gaga's electro-pop anthem "Bad Romance" alongside the Saturdays' rave-ballad "Missing You," Rihanna's seductive "Te Amo," and Black Eyed Peas' robotic stomper "Rock That Body." As if to prove his worldwide dominance, teen idol Justin Bieber also appears twice, on his Sean Kingston duet "Eenie Meanie" and the Motown-inspired "U Smile." A DVD featuring promo videos from 19 artists on the main disc is also included, making this a fun and hit-packed introduction to the exciting world of pop.
