For obvious political reasons, the rich and ancient Georgian polyphonic singing tradition has gone relatively unnoticed until recently. This is the first recording to have been made in the singers' usual social setting, from choirs ranging from village and even regional level to groups of friends at home. Much, though not all, is a cappella. Featured are stunning singing and splendid notes.
