AllMusic Review by

A pleasure and joyful listening experience for children written, arranged, and orchestrated by the incomparable Joe Wise. Mixing bluegrass and folk styles, Joe Wise weaves fun and lovable songs and poems in with good-hearted and spirited musical melodies to enchant kids and parents alike. Published and produced under the Fontaine House label in 1978, Joe Wise issues a timeless collection of songs to raise a child on, one family generation after another. Highlights include the energy of "Pockets" and "I Love to Color" and the ballad and heartwarming chant of "Our Father." "Grizzleback Snookerhog" provides the charm and humor to bring children to laughter and "The Goose Drank Wine" presents the tale of a mischievous and crazy goose. Certainly this is a sincere portrait of the Christian folk artist Wise and a perfect addition to any family's classic record collection.
