The 12-track Platinum & Gold Collection covers Keith Whitley's short commercially productive period of 1985 through 1989, the year he passed away. Included are the hits "I'm No Stranger to the Rain," "It Ain't Nothin'," and "When You Say Nothing at All." Also featured are tunes recorded by Whitley but made popular by others: "On the Other Hand" by Randy Travis and "I'm Gonna Hurt Her on the Radio" by David Allan Coe and Shenandoah. While this is a good, affordable disc, it leaves off too many of Whitley's classics to be definitive.
