This is a hootin', hollerin', hysterical Christmas release that has to be heard to be appeciated. It takes a bluegrass approach to Christmas, reminding one of dueling reindeer, and displays a sense of humor rarely found in instrumental Christmas albums as banjo, guitar, fiddle, mandolin, and more trade off on 15 Christmas standards. Some of the arrangements are likely to have people rolling on the floor under the Christmas tree, but don't let this be a deterrent; this is an album full of joyous energy, with all the players sounding like they're having the time of their lives. It sounds like "Christmas at The Waltons," and if you know what that means, buy this album.
