It's undeniably true that Ringo Starr has had the least impressive solo career of any of the Beatles, but for too long the honorable Richard Starkey's solo career has been unfairly dismissed or reduced to the nostalgia-laden All-Starr Band tours of more recent vintage. PHOTOGRAPH: THE VERY BEST OF RINGO STARR is the first comprehensive overview of Starr's solo career, and its 20 tracks reveal that his best solo material is genuinely great 1970s AM-radio pop. Kicking off with the stunning double-sided smash "It Don't Come Easy"/"Early 1970," Starr hit his creative apex with RINGO and GOODNIGHT VIENNA, both of which are liberally covered here along with the best tracks from his lesser-known later albums, including 1981's excellent "Wrack My Brain."
