Not to be confused with the Collectables anthology of the same name, Philly Golden Classics -- from TKO Magnum -- is a thoroughly skippable summation that stops short of First Choice's disco hits for Salsoul. It covers the same territory as Collectables' same-titled disc but includes less material, making it inferior in all ways. It's unforgivably spotty with the chart hits from this era (no "Smarty Pants," no "Guilty," no "Newsy Neighbors"), though it does include "Armed and Extremely Dangerous," "The Player," and "Love Freeze." Regardless, there's no reason for this disc's existence. This has been done a whole lot better.
